Work begins stripping loose harl
Window linings removed
Contractor LTM Group LTD parked at the Papa Stour Kirk
Date in plaster at altar window. The Kirk was built in 1806.

All of the harl has been removed. The windows have been taking away for repair/renewal.
A built up door opening can be seen below the memorial window.
Internal linings removed to expose rafter feet and allow masonry to dry out.
The pews have been removed and are stored on Papa Stour.
This phase of the Kirk development has been possible due to grant aid from:

Shetland Charitable Trust is providing financial assistance to facilitate the project
Scaffolding has been erected at the Kirk and the roof slates have been stripped with temporary roof protection in place. 16th March 2023
